Praying mantis, spiders, chicken, birds eat lantern flies. Wasps lay their eggs inside the lantern flies' eggs, and subsequently their larvae eats the host's larvae . Yellow jackets love the honeydew produced by the lantern flies.
Where do these insects and birds live?
In their natural wild environment. Originally, praying mantis, for example, came from parts of Europe, Asia and Africa.
If we are to destroy their natural habitat, pulling out all the "invasive" plants, using pesticides - we are creating an imbalance.
I have a lot of milkweed, which monarch butterflies benefit so much from, and which turns out to be toxic to lantern spotted flies.
So it's all about natural balance.
Fleas feed on mostly sick animals, as they are attracted to their scent. A good example - not everyone gets bitten by mosquitos.
Do companies producing the "chemical warfare" profit from creating the "bug attack" hype?
