Let's just think about it.
When we leave, let's say, a piece of apple in a moist environment, it will get soggy and moldy over time. It may even start fermenting (a different kind of mold). This is how the apple will decay in a moist environment. In a dry and hot environment, the same piece of apple would dry up and eventually would turn to dust.
If I am to walk by this apple piece, I may experience the same symptoms as my own body is in the moist or dry environment. A live apple tree may withstand a change in weather and seasons, provided it receives good nutrients in the soil, the richer soil, the better the fruits :) . Similarly, my body will shed whatever is already not needed in my body.
Do I get effected by the decaying apple? Not a bit. :) In fact, have you tried pickled apples?
