What is a swelling? Our body isolates locally the toxins for liquifying / processing away from the bloodstream, and rejuvenating - a normal process we can notice anywhere on our body. The simplest example is from a mosquito bite.
This time, it started under my tooth, moved to my jaw, and eventually made it to my gum. It was a substantial size bump! It took longer than usually to clear it up - a few weeks. Maybe, because I was gentle on myself and diluted the essential oils in buckthorn oil, though, at one point, when I thought I was ok, I ruined it by eating cacao spread on banana, even though I ate it on the other side of my mouth.
It was quite painful. At times, I felt, if I had a gun, I would shoot myself. I went for a walk, focusing on nature around me. It also helped me think straight. I kept in my mind that a different approach - going to dentist, the executioner, would only bring more pain and suffering. He would do a little tap on a tooth to have a "pull the tooth" diagnosis. Then, I would need a bridge, because I would not go for painful implants. I knew I could rely on my essential oils which so far never failed me! I told my tooth that I loved it and would take care of it. I also decided to cheer up! :)
I ate very light or nothing - maybe a banana (so soothing for the gums, btw) or a steamed Granny Smith apple, papaya, blueberries, cherries, made vegetable juice, defrosted dragon fruit and coconut (both are sold blended), and drank raw goat milk with honey. I also used my urine, which was clear and pleasant (being a vegetarian, and not eating much on top, makes it a very filtered body's homeopathic liquid ). I drank some of it and kept on the sore spot for as long as I could.
I documented a lot about using essential oils in Trust Your Body And Your Teeth Too . Now I want to summarize what essential oils I used and for what purpose.
Thieves and even in capsules I felt helped liquify the toxins. I remember, my husband sharing Thieves with a friend, who did not use a glass - he put a few drops in water in plastic cup. After a while, there was a hole in that cup! PanAway blend, I felt helped me support the bone, together with Wintergreen, which drives essential oils deep. Helichrysum is a very gentle and soothing, very effective for tissue support. Sacred Frankincense, of course, is of high value. I did use Purification blend too for cleansing and lymph support. Valerian was very instrumental in the nerve support. Valor blend has always been my favorite for any injury, and Freedom blend I love too. DiGize and Fennel I used almost regularly on my gums to make sure I don't have any food stuck under the gum. I mixed these (1 or 2 drops, sometimes 3) in a tea spoon filled with buckthorn oil, or later, help oil. I held it on the spot for as long as I could, having my saliva, and then swallowed. At the end, when the swelling was gone, I rubbed myrrh on my gums. I will repeat PanAway today, just to make sure, and will continue using myrrh until my gums get better. I have used NingXia Nitro, 1 or 2 packets a day, as I love the taste and it always makes me happy and gives energy. Buckthorn oil is very soothing and does not have much flavor.
The last day of my healing, I sweated a lot at night, and my urine became cloudy. Maybe, I had that after I took 1 capsule of Thieves and 1 capsule of Longevity. I also poured a few essential oils undiluted on location - Valor, Purification and Helichrysum.
I hope, my whole body, not just my teeth, are better balanced now.
Btw, when diluting essential oils, I dripped the not hot oils last, so that the hot ones would get diluted better first.
I did use the plantain leaves which I chewed up, but I was not feeling much action there. Too bad I did not have wheat grass - I would do a poultice with that.
I pondered if I should use charcoal and even tried it for a few minutes. But then, I felt that it may dry up the swelling, interfering with the cleansing. I think, I could have used it without worrying, because I remember using it on my stingray leg injury.
Keeping my faith in my body was most important. I kept myself busy - composing, taking care of our dog and cat, going for a walk, exercise, biking to the store - anything to keep my mind off my tooth's slow progress. I did not discuss much about my swelling with my husband or friends, as I did not need any negativity nor mistrust in what I was doing.
I thought, this would be a great example for others, not to rush to get rid of a tooth.
I DID IT!!!
Maintenance
I am religious now about maintaining my teeth now - clean in between, under the gums and brush with water at night or after a meal, if need be. I like to use lemongrass diluted in buckthorn oil or fennel, or any of the above, depending on the situation.
P.S. I completely forgot about using patchouli! Don't want to say "next time" :)
P.S. Btw, "Maxillary first premolars and mandibular molars usually have two roots. Maxillary molars usually have three roots. Additional roots are referred to as supernumerary roots."
