No matter from what perspective we look at our sophisticated body, mind and spirit - from a religious or not point of view - it's a vessel which we are in charge of.
We can choose to take care or not of it, think or not about something, enjoy the moment - every part of it, as if you are watching a movie - i.e. I am here, now, enjoying my juicy apple :)
Simple.
No manual needed :)
The biggest mistakes we make is when we force our opinions on others, and especially little children.
My friend's son was about 2 when her doctor recommended that she stopped nursing him. One of the results - constipation. And not just from withdrawing the nature-given nourishment. The mother felt her son shouldn't have eaten so many bananas and instead, offered him foods full of cooked starches - cooked grains, potatoes, etc. It took forever on my side to convince her to let her son eat what he wanted and give him healthy choices. Both suffered for a long time.
I have been a raw vegetarian since 2002 and luckily grew up on a lot of fresh fruit and veggies and non-processed food. Besides nutritional value, our food is associated with memories, and that has a psychological effect in itself.
Years ago, someone mentioned to me how at night, after having a full dinner, he craved and had cookies. It puzzled me for years as I tried to find the answer. Yesterday, my answer was confirmed as I ate so many foods that have a nourishing and cleansing effect, the night before. Most of the morning and the next day my body could not stop cleansing... Why did I eat all these fruits, smoothies and chocolate with the peppermint essential oil? Because my body asked for it. One thing though, glad I was staying home :)
