There are general guidelines on how fast we can / cannot regenerate our body from different problems.
My answer is - it all depends on the priorities your body and you may be, which are constantly juggling.
For example, I recently had a really bad fall off the bike. The pain was signaling my body to prioritize to take care of my rib and elbow, even though my leg was badly bruised. To tell you the truth - I did not even feel the pain there. I did hurt my nose also, and I made that a priority to support the healing because I couldn't even smell anything for a few days as my nose was totally clogged with blood.
This is just an effective personal example to illustrate my point.
