That's a great start!
I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and got annoyed at seeing puffed eyelids, especially the right one.
It's been like this for years. I know that it shows that my gallbladder is overloaded. Maybe, it also has to do with the eye muscles, as I noticed having a tendency to squint or relax my eyelids, maybe because they feel heavy.
Silly me, this morning, I rubbed some Valor and helichrysum essential oils blend to balance the gallbladder acupressure point above the eyelids. I have gone over other acupoints in the past, but this morning, I finally decided to give this more thought.
What does the gallbladder do?
It stores the bile (gall in Latin) - acidic liquid, which is produced by the liver. Bile is used to break down fats and carry toxins and metabolic waste out.
Am I eating too much fat?
Let's uncoil this "mystery" :)
Last night, for example, I did feel a little bile in my esophagus, because I ate late and on top of the meal that didn't get digested yet (almond butter with bread).
Why did I eat? I only had 2 spoons of the pea soup, because I made it for my husband and it looked good :)
I don't do this every night, luckily. I was in that kind of mood last night :)
So as I overate, my liver had to do more work, producing more bile - hence puffy eyelids. Should I do the exercises for the eyelids, use some creams :) ?
Did I go for a walk last night? No - my son's cat Cheddar wanted me to stay with him, so he could fall asleep. Guess who fell asleep first? Yes, me, sitting down :)
Our body knows how to stay in homeostasis (i.e. simplest example - we get dressed when we are cold :) ). What I need to do is maybe pay attention to what / why I do what I do.
My moods is what gets me in trouble.
:)
Last night, I was awake enough to take some fennel internally to support digestion. Yet, maybe that was not right to do as I have now this extra bile that did not get used up.
So now, I need to deal with that, which I will.
